THE PROM....

Dean: [from stage] Alright folks, the moment we've all been waiting for. I have in my hands the name of the duly elected King and Queen. Oh, must have left my glasses in my other tuxedo, drag. Oh okay okay okay okay, enough horsing around, I do happen to have them. [puts on his glasses] In the election of King, it's a landslide. Billy Abbott!
Raul: Right on, way to go buddy.
[Billy goes up to stage and gets crowned]
Dean: Alright, and now the Queen. The envelope please. [Prom; Billy is onstage with the dean. Mac, Rianna and Brittany are standing together]
Dean: And now, the moment we've all been waiting for. The envelope please. Well this was a very close race. It's the closest I've ever seen.
Jill: Get the cameras on Brittany.
Frank: Are you sure?
Jill: Yes d*mmit. I'm sure.
Dean: And since it is so close, I'm going to announce the top three girls, because they're all winners. Second runner-up is...Rianna Miner. Our first runner-up and only a few votes short of winning is...Brittany Hodges. And our Walnut Grove Prom Queen for the year 2000 is...Mackenzie Browning!

[Mac is crowned]

Dean: Let's hear it for our King and Queen! You should also acknowledge your royal subjects. [Billy takes her hand, they both smile] Go ahead,
Billy. Put your arm around her, huh. [Billy puts his arm around her] That's right, smile for the camera. Huh?
Raul: Yeah, atta girl!
Dean: Alright, let's get a few without these. [Takes off their crowns]
[Brittany leaves]
Dean: Very nice. Good job! It's time for the King and Queen to have their dance.
[Billy and Mac walk off the stage onto the dance floor. Everyone moves off to the side. Frank walks over to Jill]
Jill: Turn your cameras off. It's all over.
Frank: No way. This is great stuff, I wanna get all of it.
Jill: Whatever. [walks over to the dean] You said it was close, I want a recount.
Dean: I'm sorry Mrs. Abbott, it was a fair contest. You couldn't ask for a prettier Queen.
[Mac and Billy start dancing]

[Chancellor dining room; Mac. She thinks back to dancing with Billy]
Mac: What am I thinking? [knock on the French doors. She turns – it's Billy. Mac turns around and walks towards the door, smiling]
[She opens the doors]
Mac: Billy.
Billy: Yeah. What?
Mac: Nothing. I…I just didn't expect you. Billy: I had to come and see you after what happened tonight. I don't even have to ask. I know you felt the same way out on the dance floor. It was incredible.
Mac: It was real?
Billy: Well yeah, Mac. Yeah it was. I never felt that way before in my whole life.
Mac: Neither have I. Never before.
[Billy leans in really slowly and they KISS!]
